Britney had an appointment with the orthopedist yesterday morning at 8:00. The doctor reviewed her x-rays, and checked her hand. He said with this type of fracture, it needs to heal on it's own. She now has these cool velcro straps to wear to brace her finger. Now she can bend and move her finger instead of keeping it straight all the time. One of the biggest problems is stiffness in the damaged finger, so she needs to bend it a couple times each hour. We go back next week for another x-ray to make sure it's healing correctly. She should be as good as new in 4 to 6 weeks:)
After her appointment, we came home and ate a bite. We were hungry! Then we hit the road again. Cody had two appointments in Birmingham. The first one was with Endocrine. The doctor is unhappy with Cody's growth and weight gain. He IS growing, just not at the rate the doctor thinks he should be with the medication he's taking. He upped his dosage of growth hormone, and we went to the lab for blood work. They are going to check several different hormone levels and his thyroid level. They do this every appointment...Cody doesn't like having his blood drawn there. He's very good about needles everywhere else, just not there. I don't know why.
After that, we went to his dentist appointment. We were less than happy with the local dentist for reasons I won't get into on here. We decided to go through the hospital and see how they are. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am we did! They were fantastic! I mean...AWESOME! Cody will need some work done, so we go back in a couple weeks. We liked them so much, we scheduled Brit an appointment at the same time.
It was a good day overall, just busy and long. I was so glad when we pulled into our driveway:) Plus, The Event comes on Monday nights. That's my new favorite show!
