Okay...let's do this.

Britney keeps asking if I'm EVER going to post. To be honest, the blog just hasn't felt important to me. That's happened several times before. I go from being REALLY into blogging, to not caring about it...AT ALL. Now I am so far behind, I don't even know where to begin.

Let's see what I've missed...

Thanksgiving
Grandpa passed away
Our decision to run a half marathon in April
Pajama party
Girls weekend in Nashville
Britney's NaNoWriMo victory
Crazy Stupid Love and LOTS of baking
Britney's Space & Rocket Center adventure
Decatur Christmas Parade
Christmas with Dad and Rosie
I'm on CASA's Board of Directors
Ugly Christmas sweater party with Dirty Santa
Wizard of Oz auditions
Christmas program ~ watching those Amos kids get down!
Overnight trip to Auburn
Christmas with our Roamies with Dirty Santa
Health issues with several friends and relatives...mom's in ICU right now.
Just life in general...

Dear Blog,

I really haven't forgotten about you. I think of you often and wonder when we will meet again. To say that I have been busy is an understatement. It's December 4th and I don't have the Christmas tree up yet! So much has happened since our last visit together. I don't even know where to begin. Hopefully, I will be able to have several conversations with you this week. You know...after I clean, dust, vacuum, possibly steam clean carpets, get caught up on laundry and dishes, get the house decorated for Christmas, take Britney to the play audition....

See you soon!

Halloween

It's Fall Ya'll

If you know me, you know I don't say 'ya'll'. That's hard to type for this yankee!

It's autumn and in Alabama that means one day it's wet and 45 and the next it's sunny and 70. We had a couple beautiful days, so we took advantage of them. Britney and I laid out in the backyard, swatting bugs and dogs off of us attempting to soak up a few more rays. We also went to the park, racked up some miles on our bikes and had picnics.

I wonder if Cody will ever play on this thing again. He nearly made himself sick from spinning!

I called Karen to see if they would like to come out and play. Everything is better with friends.

Keilee brought her bow and arrow and let Cody and Brit get in a few practice shots.

Twelve!

Bobby and I celebrated our 12th anniversary on the 26th.
Twelve years...that's just amazing to me!

I love you so much, Mr. Lackey!

Me

I woke up at 2:22 this morning. Wide awake...nearly panicked. I hate waking up freaked out like that. Did I hear someone breaking in? Was it a bad dream? Did I stop breathing?

I went to bed around midnight so the math is pretty simple as to how much sleep I got...or didn't get as the case may be. I wasn't able to fall back to sleep. It's 6:29 now. I know it's good to have quiet time to think about things and reflect on life's happenings, but sometimes my brain isn't a very nice thing to be alone with.

In other news, the scale is being quite nice to me. I'm down 14.2 pounds from my highest weight! Woohoo! I can see a difference in my face and which hole I'm using on my belt. I would set a goal with my weigh loss but every time I do, I end up gaining weight. It's like the added pressure stresses me out and I end up sabotaging myself every single time. So I am going to continue with what I'm doing without over thinking it too much.

YouthQuake

Britney, Emily and I went to YouthQuake on Saturday and had a blast! It was a beautiful day and we were all pumped!

We got there early and stood in line along with hundreds of other people, which was kind of fun actually. I like striking up conversations with complete strangers...sometimes.

Waiting in line...

Once we got in, we picked out a spot and camped out for a while.

And then the party started!

The girls with We As Human

and the lead singer of Manafest, Chris Greenwood.

We had so much fun!

To Kill a Mockingbird

Britney and I went to watch To Kill a Mockingbird last night and Keilee nailed the part of Scout!

While we were waiting for the show to start...

Things happen when we have to wait and have a camera in hand.

Things like this.

We were soon joined by the Amos family and then the Crawfords. Everything's better with friends:)

All of our kiddos.
See? Keilee's the perfect Scout!

Today :)

Every single thing about today was beautiful. I love days like this...
We slept in, had our coffee, I made up a batch of french toast for a late breakfast, Bobby and I worked in the garden, Elisa and Donna stopped by for an unexpected visit, stopped by the farmer's market, we walked around downtown, took pictures and enjoyed the gorgeous day, and Britney and I went to watch a play with friends while the boys hung out at home.

I love these two so much!

Columbus Day

Take time to educate yourself and your children about the real story of Christopher Columbus. Learn the facts and truths and decide for yourself if he was a person you want to honor. There's so much more to the story than what is taught in school.

We do not celebrate Columbus Day.
