Day at Dad's

We spent Thursday with Dad, Rosie and Max celebrating Britney's birthday!
We had such a great time! We ate a fantastic meal and chatted and played Sequence.

Britney showed off her elbow licking skills once again.

And Cody was like "Hey! I can lick my knee!"
LOL

Rosie made a delicious turtle cake! I definitely want the recipe. YUM!

Max needed to move his horse up from the lower field so he would have more grass to eat. Stormy is such a handsome fellow.

Then we headed out so we could check out a new fishing place Max had found. The kids had SO much fun riding in his car on those winding back roads with the wind in their hair:)

Spittin' Contest:)~

Look at this thing!
He belongs to one of Max's neighbors. He's freakin' HUGE!
And still eating...
Max said he's been on a diet and has actually lost some weight.

Puppy

Mom called a couple days ago and told me about some new excitement in her neck of the woods. The other morning, around 6:00, her dog wanted out. He always goes to the backyard to be let out, but this time he went to the front door. Mom looked out, and on her sidewalk just in front of the steps to her front porch, was a box. She put her shoes on and went outside to investigate. Inside the box, were dozens of socks, ranging in size from adult to infant. There were a couple toys, a bag of Puppy Chow and of course, a puppy.

Isn't that bizarre? This is the second puppy that has 'found' her since she's been in that house. What kind of a person just drops a puppy off at some random stranger's house?

Mom had said she is the ugliest puppy she had ever seen and described her ears and how they are located on the sides of her head instead of the usual placement.

The kids and I had to go to her house yesterday, and of course we saw the puppy. Mom lied. She's not ugly. I think mom was trying to convince herself not to get attached. She was right about the ears though. They're wonky! They're long and stick out to the sides. I shall call her Yoda.

Yoda is a Chihuahua mix. She's brown with white on her front paws. She has a pretty little head and almost looks like a fawn. The kids played with her for a long time and then Yoda slept on the chair with Brit and then Cody. She plays non stop and then takes a good long nap.

Mom called last night to see if we could puppy sit for her today while she goes to the doctor with David. The kids seemed excited to have another opportunity to snuggle and play with a puppy so I told mom to bring her.

She's been here for about three hours. She's played, had a bath, played, slept, played, ate, played...she's pretty darn cute. Mom is looking for a home for her, so if you'd enjoy playful puppy cuteness at your house, let me know!

Olive Garden, Critters, fye, Epic

I woke up this morning feeling...icky. My knee is hurting worse and my hip hurts when I move it a certain way. I didn't sleep well. This no air conditioning thing is hard to deal with. I think my brain is melting.

I didn't make any plans for today. We still intend to have everyone over as soon as it can be rescheduled. My brother called and invited us to Olive Garden to celebrate Brit's day. We decided to take him up on the offer and finished getting ready. She also opened her present from Cody...a stuffed Yoshi key chain and a couple Death Note pins. We met Max around 12:30 and had a delicious meal and Brit got the best pumpkin cheesecake. She said she couldn't imagine having a better birthday cake. After lunch we went to Pet Smart and looked around for a while. We're very critter oriented:)

Max gave Britney a machete, sword thing that she LOVES and another double bladed...thing. I have no idea what it's called. I'll get pictures tomorrow. Anyway, she loves them and couldn't have asked for a better present. Thanks Max!

Before we went home, we stopped by the mall so Brit and Cody could look through f.y.e. They wanted to look around at the other anime items and they also have a lot of Mario stuff.

Then we were home for about an hour before heading to church, where we were asked to dress in our favorite team's jersey. The discussion this week was on loyalty. I wore an Alabama shirt, Britney wore an Alabama shirt and hat and I sprayed her hair red, and Cody was Team Mario all the way. I was fun to look around and see everyone's clothing choices. One lady had a shirt that she made that said Go Jesus Go :) The youth pastor told everyone it was Brit's birthday so that was fun. After service they played tug of war several times and ran around and had a blast.

So for not having any plans, it turned out to be a pretty great day!

Fajita Ninja Slide

Yesterday was Zachary's birthday party. He'll be nine on Tuesday!
It was so much fun...minus an injury or two.

The birthday boy!

He set this shot up for me...

The grub line.
Right before we started sliding, Cody got in a fire ant hill. He's has bites all over his feet and ankles. He's okay. He's quite itchy this morning.

At one point, Brit slid into someone's knees with her head.

Bobby and I went down the slide at the same time and my leg got underneath him and he was sliding in one direction, me in another...ouch. I cried a little. It hurt my hip so much at the time and now my knee is in a lot pain. I'm hoping it just got stretched and turned a little in the wrong direction and will be fine.

Then a whole group went down and Bobby got elbowed in the lower back pretty hard. I think right where he had surgery. He's at work today hurting. :(

Pinata by high beam.

We sang Happy Birthday to Zachary and then to Britney which was very nice.
She's 13 today!

She even got a present! That blanket is SO her!
Thank you Heather!

I think it's safe to assume that everyone who participated is sore today!
