Pictures

Brit and Cody playing their new Mario Brawl Wii game for the first time.

The innards of the lumpia. This made 49. I think I put 6 in the fridge at the end of the night.

The kids getting their grub on.

The birthday girl:)

In Huntsville at Southerland Station.

We stopped by Walmart to pick up some plastic snakes to put in the garden. The birds are feasting on the tomatoes!

With the Crawfords on our way to Cullman.

Park Day, Swim, LBP & Cake

Yesterday, we spent nearly the whole day with our friends. I love doing that. We always have so much fun together. We went to Sparkman Park. I've been there several times, but have never gone to the back side of the park before. There are pavilions, a creek and a nice playground. Definitely the better side of the park:)

Cody and some other boys down by the creek.

I don't know why Brit's dead in this photo. Emily seemed concerned.

WHEE!

One of the boys was catching crawdads out of the creek. I love catching crawdads.

After the park, we headed to Heather's.
Our first group swim of the year!

The water isn't quite warm enough for Cody to get into, so he stayed inside and played Little Big Planet. He loves LBP!

Brit went home with the Crawfords. I'm pretty sure she pulled an all nighter as we were just watching Full Metal Alchemist and she dozed off, her leg fell off the coffee table and she jerked herself awake. She's gone to bed now.

After Heather's, Cody and I came home long enough to hug Bobby's neck before he went to work. Then we went to mom and David's to pick up half of a strawberry cake she made. Holy cow, that thing is good. I'm jealous of that other half. We ended up eating dinner with them and chatting for a while.

It was just a great day.

Party :)

We spent a good chunk of yesterday at Heather's house celebrating Austin, Carson and G's...I mean, Mr. G's birthdays. (He's older now. He deserves respect) We had such a wonderful time talking and laughing and hanging out with our besties!

Dungeons and Dragons

The younger boys had SO much fun playing video games.

Loading the air soft gun.

Off to shoot people in the woods.

Very tired, hot, happy people:)

We had an fantastic day and were once again reminded of how blessed we are to be able to surround ourselves with these amazing people!

The week

We're finally starting to thaw out here. The snow was fun, but I'm glad to see it go. The ice was not so fun. It was a literal pain in my ass and I have decided to move farther south. My hip is healing. The pain has been significant - my whole left side has hurt and I looked like an old woman hobbling through the house. I'm feeling much better today. I still have a nice bruise on my hip...quite colorful.

Cody and I had been home ALL week, so while Bobby was off work on Sunday, we went to Books A Million and TJ Maxx to look around. Cody bought himself a couple books and Brit is saving up her money so she can purchase the new Maximum Ride book when it comes out on Valentine's Day. Man, that kid is excited about that book:)

I called Heather to see if they would like to hang out Sunday evening, so we ended up at her house and spent hours talking, laughing and eating. The kids had so much fun playing games.
After dinner, we watched Guardians of Ga'hoole. It was such a visually pleasing movie...very pretty. We really enjoyed it and now we want to read the book series. Great night with some of our bestest buddies:)

I won a giveaway on Gretta's blog and received a free copy of Soaring with Spelling for Cody. He LOVES it! He is excited about doing his lesson for the day. It's so awesome to find something he likes this much. Plus it has helped his confidence with his reading in other areas. Happy!

I've starting a new blog just for my photography: g m lackey photography
I've joined Esther in a fun weekly photo challenge...Project 52.

Let's see...what else? Oh, we've made homemade biscuits twice this week. Not just any biscuits. No...these biscuits actually taste great and don't resemble hockey pucks like my usual attempts. Seriously, I haven't been able to make biscuits...EVER. They've always been horrible. Not anymore! I'll post the recipe.
