Florida

Dad and Karen invited us to Florida with them! We are so excited! The St. Augustine area is one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, Bobby can't go because of work :( We'll miss you baby! I'll update the blog when we get home. Trust me. I'll take more pictures than some would consider humanely possible!

Thanks for inviting us guys!

Here are some pictures from our trip to St. Augustine in 2004.

Transformers 2 @ the Drive In

We decided to head over to the Drive In last night to watch Transformers 2. It was awesome! LOVE me some Optimus Prime and Bumblebee!! Should anyone want to buy me a new vehicle, I would be completely content in that Camaro! But it has to come equipped with the BEE-OTCH air freshener hanging from the rear view.

TRANS FLICK I'm not sure why I find this so humorous, but I do.

Burchfield Branch Park

We're home! We had a great time camping! Have I mentioned I love our camper? I LOVE our camper:)

We went to Burchfield Branch Park about an hour from Tuscaloosa. We played on the beach and swam, saw a coal mine, toured Alabama's campus, went to the Museum of Natural History in Tuscaloosa, fished, had a campfire, and ate at Cathy's ~ THANKS CATHY! Oh, and Brit and Bobby are BURNT!

Britney + Snip Snip =

OH, HAIL!!!!

Decatur was smacked around last night! That was the worst storm we've experienced in the 5 years living in this house. We had crazy strong winds, rain and hail. After the worst of it went through, there was lightening...and a lot of it. It was beautiful and far enough away we could safely go outside to watch. I got a couple good pictures, but was basically too slow.

We lost power until midnight, which was kind of fun. We used candles, lanterns and glow sticks and of course I couldn't miss an opportunity to snap some pictures.

We got out the ol' Fireside Book of Folk Songs and sang everything from "She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain" to the "Twelve Days of Christmas"...twice.
So all in all it wasn't a horrible experience. I was very thankful for the power at midnight. It had gotten SO HOT in the house. I'm an air condition junkie who needed a fix! This morning I went out front to assess the damage and Cassie was on the front porch. At some point during the storm, she dug out of the backyard to "run away" from the lightening. I'm just glad she didn't run off!

SPLASH

Cathy invited us over today to swim and have lunch at her house. We had such a great time and pigged out on the delicious food she made! We are so blessed to be homeschooling and to have made such amazing friends this past year. Thanks Cathy!!

Dr. Horrible

Cody went to his room to play, and quickly ran out and said he had an idea! "I'm going to dress up. Where are my goggles?" He found his goggles and disappeared in his room for a while. He came out dressed like Dr. Horrible! Bobby and I nearly fell in the floor laughing!

"The remote control was in my hand!"
If you've never watched Dr. Horrible, please click here to find out what you're missing. Warning: It's addictive! We LOVE the soundtrack!!

Friends

We kidnapped Chandler for a couple days! (Her parents know where she is and no ransom has been demanded) We had Mexican for dinner yesterday, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. And since we had leftovers, we enjoyed for lunch, too! I also made the kids fried okra, and barbecued pork chops.

I went to get Cody something, and when I came back, Bobby and Cody were entertaining the restaurant.

Keilee came to spend the night, too! They had so much fun and put on a stuffed animal play that was hilarious!
I got up about 30 minutes after I went to bed so I could take a "surprise" picture of them. Britney was teaching Keilee how to play Chess and Chandler was setting up the Chineese Checkers board.

I woke up at 4:05 am and headed for the kitchen to get a drink of water. Keilee and Britney were still awake chatting each others' ears off. I asked them if they needed anything and they both ran into the kitchen. Keilee had the saddest little pouty face and Brit said, "Keilee wants some popcorn."

With as many Wild Swims as we are planning to attend this summer, we bought some floats today! We're so excited to finally have our own!
