A Teenage Britney

My girl will be thirteen years old in a matter of hours. I know how that thought scares most parents, but I'm not afraid of having a teenager. If I walked into every new stage of our lives worried about how bad it's going to be, life would prove to be pretty unbearable. The truth is, I'm excited for her because she's excited. I couldn't be any prouder to be her mother. We have an awesome relationship. We speak to and treat each other respectfully. We laugh and joke around. We love music and sing together. We listen to each other.

Britney is an amazing person. She truly is. She is beautiful inside and out. She is giving, kind, generous, and thoughtful. She's one of the most intelligent people I know. She cares for her family. She has the best friends and is a wonderful friend to have. She stands up for what she believes in. She loves her church and the new friends she's making. She's artistic and talented in so many ways. She has an incredible sense of humor and timing, which she proved yet again last night at the table during dinner:)

I am so thankful and honored that God has allowed us to be a part of Britney's life. I look forward to seeing her continue on her path. To watch her be happy and grow, to set goals for herself and exceed them, to laugh, dance, play, learn, pretend, imagine and dream big dreams.
