It's over!

It's over. The yard sale is over. I am left with a sore back, a wicked sunburn and a new respect for items priced $1. Those dollars add up! We consider the sale a huge success. We made money and got rid of a ton of stuff. What didn't sell, got distributed between The Salvation Army and The Downtown Rescue Thrift Store. The CCC is closed today or it would have all gone there.

It was sad to see some of the kids' things go. Britney's Heidi doll went to a beautiful little girl and Cody's once favorite stuffed Blue's Clues is sleeping in another room tonight. It's sad, but when it comes down to it, it's just stuff. I have a bad habit of collecting long forgotten things just because it was once important to someone. I'll try to do better.

The kids sold drinks for 50 cents each and racked up some dough! Everyone thought selling ice cold drinks at a yard sale was a great idea. They both worked so hard and got paid for their efforts.

I'm really proud of us. We got so much accomplished in a very short amount of time. We worked our hineys off! The majority of the people that stopped were very pleasant, and I enjoyed chatting with everyone. Except for the grumpy lady who should have slept in a bit later :)~

I'm so thankful it's over.
