The week

While Bobby was off work this week, we decided to tackle the garden.  Yes, we're late...but better late than never - we hope!  We went up the Valley Feed and purchased tomato, squash and spinach plants.  Actually the lady gave us the spinach for free because the plants look so rough.  We're hoping we can revive them.  We got those in the ground as well as seeds for cucumber, green beans, basil, parsley, a variety of flowers (hoping to bring those bees in!)  I think that's it.  I may have forgotten something.

We have asparagus and garlic still growing from last year.

Yesterday, we decided to hit the farmer's market here in town and then head to The Greene Street Market in Huntsville so Bobby could check it out.

There was only one guy set up here in town, but we scored some delicious peaches.

And here's our entire haul...lettuce, spinach, onion, strawberries, green beans and this cucumber relish stuff that was quite yummy!

The girls

While we were camping at Clear Creek, the girls decided that they needed to spend the whole month of June together.  They need time together to talk and plan and scheme and giggle for 34 minutes straight without breathing.  It's quite impressive!  While it's not possible to have them together for the entire month, we are trying to coordinate as much time as we can!

Chan spent nearly the entire week with us and Emily spent a couple days and is back today.  I just love these girls!  They could totally live here and other than food shortages and an increase in dirty laundry, they would be no problem at all.  The only outing we embarked on was to the local thrift store so they could look for cosplay items.

They also sent in a video audition for X Factor!  They sang Ho Hey by the Lumineers.  (Although I like Lennon & Maisy performing it better:)  Their voices sound so beautiful together.  I hope they hear back from X Factor, but even if they don't, I'm so proud of them for following their dreams and passions :)

Thoughts?

This image, from the book Olivia Goes to Venice was shared today by Free Your Kids on facebook with the comment
"In which Olivia gets groped at the airport and is pleased with it...
I guess we won't be buying *this* book..."

At first, I thought it was fake, so I looked it up and found it on Amazon.  Here it is and if you 'Click to look inside' the page is clearly visible.  The illustration depicts Olivia, hands held up, being searched for weapons by two adults with wands.  Olivia is 'very pleased' by the search.  I would love for my first thought to be something intelligent, but seriously the first thing that pops into my head is What the fuck?!!  It seems like the goal is to desensitize children...to make them feel their bodies are not their own and to accept actions like this without hesitation.  It's disgusting that they are trying to normalize groping by TSA agents.  Let's give up our freedoms for safety.  Thoughts?
