Me

I woke up at 2:22 this morning. Wide awake...nearly panicked. I hate waking up freaked out like that. Did I hear someone breaking in? Was it a bad dream? Did I stop breathing?

I went to bed around midnight so the math is pretty simple as to how much sleep I got...or didn't get as the case may be. I wasn't able to fall back to sleep. It's 6:29 now. I know it's good to have quiet time to think about things and reflect on life's happenings, but sometimes my brain isn't a very nice thing to be alone with.

In other news, the scale is being quite nice to me. I'm down 14.2 pounds from my highest weight! Woohoo! I can see a difference in my face and which hole I'm using on my belt. I would set a goal with my weigh loss but every time I do, I end up gaining weight. It's like the added pressure stresses me out and I end up sabotaging myself every single time. So I am going to continue with what I'm doing without over thinking it too much.

YouthQuake

Britney, Emily and I went to YouthQuake on Saturday and had a blast! It was a beautiful day and we were all pumped!

We got there early and stood in line along with hundreds of other people, which was kind of fun actually. I like striking up conversations with complete strangers...sometimes.

Waiting in line...

Once we got in, we picked out a spot and camped out for a while.

And then the party started!

The girls with We As Human

and the lead singer of Manafest, Chris Greenwood.

We had so much fun!

To Kill a Mockingbird

Britney and I went to watch To Kill a Mockingbird last night and Keilee nailed the part of Scout!

While we were waiting for the show to start...

Things happen when we have to wait and have a camera in hand.

Things like this.

We were soon joined by the Amos family and then the Crawfords. Everything's better with friends:)

All of our kiddos.
See? Keilee's the perfect Scout!

Today :)

Every single thing about today was beautiful. I love days like this...
We slept in, had our coffee, I made up a batch of french toast for a late breakfast, Bobby and I worked in the garden, Elisa and Donna stopped by for an unexpected visit, stopped by the farmer's market, we walked around downtown, took pictures and enjoyed the gorgeous day, and Britney and I went to watch a play with friends while the boys hung out at home.

I love these two so much!

Columbus Day

Take time to educate yourself and your children about the real story of Christopher Columbus. Learn the facts and truths and decide for yourself if he was a person you want to honor. There's so much more to the story than what is taught in school.

We do not celebrate Columbus Day.

She's here! And Skate Day!

Bobby, Cody and I met Dad and Rosie in Huntsville this morning to get Kat. Britney had spent a couple nights out at a friend's house. She thought we were going after Skate Day to get her. I love surprises:)

As soon as we got home, I got her a drink and gave her a bath. Bobby stayed home and Cody and I went off to Skate Day...where I didn't take one single picture. Geesh!
Unfortunately, Britney hurt her hand while playing limbo. Hope she's okay!
We left a little early so we could 'go get Kat' and came home to 'pick up Dad' While Brit was letting Bobby look at her hand and telling him how she hurt it, I quietly got Kat out of the crate and said "Will this make you feel better" Like I said...I LOVE surprises!

Puppy snuggles make everything better:)

Isn't she precious?!

She is SO sweet and super cuddly.
She's been eating and drinking and playing and sleeping and doing all of those puppy things.
Loving our Kitty Kat:)

Tate Farms

We had the BEST day!

We went on a field trip to Tate Farms and we had so much fun! Poor Bobby though. We worked off this morning, slept for about an hour and a half and got up and went with. He had never been there before and really wanted to spend the day with us. I sure do love that man:)

I like this guy. He looks like he's up to something.

First thing on our list was the hayride to the pumpkin patch.
We all loved it:)

Picking out our pumpkins.

Our guide's name is Linda and she ROCKS! I enjoyed talking to her so much.
I told her I'd give her a Shout Out on here so....
SHOUT!

Here's Linda holding a baby pumpkin and explaining the male and female parts and how they make the pumpkin. Pretty cool. She also told us about a local bee keeper who brings the hives to their farm while the pumpkins are blooming and then takes them back home when they're finished. The bees make honey from the the pumpkin pollen. Um..YUMMO! We clearly seemed interested so she told us that they sell the honey in the country store:)

Awesome new slide! Well, new since the last time we've been there.

Then it was time for the hay maze.

Then we were off to the corn crib.

The is Steve Tate...as in Tate Farms. He came over and asked if we were all having a good time and thanked us for being there. He seems like a super nice guy.

Bobby shaking the corn out of Cody's clothes.
Hahahaha!

Then it was time for the...um..HUGE, inflated, jumpy thing:)
Holy cow! I was SO pumped to do this and it was awesome! I think that alone was worth the price of admission for me.

If I could do this every single day, my legs would be buff! Awesome exercise.

Off to the petting zoo.
The bunnies were SO freakin' cute!

They had a sheep, goats, a one week old calf and chicks. I couldn't get a picture of the calf because he was asleep on the other side of the hay bales.

And then the playground. These slides were so much fun!

King of the mountain!
That was the end of our tour. We had about 30 minutes to continue walking around and playing before the farm became open to the public.

We spent that time looking through the country store and getting a couple more family pictures.
We bought a quart of that honey! I'll let you know how it is.

Our pumpkin family.

We stopped at Moe's on the way home. Love me some Moe's and on Tuesdays kids eat free!

It was just a completely, wonderful, magical kind of day.
