Our first adventure in our camper

And what an adventure it was! We were planning on going to North Carolina to go gem mining, and then heading to Myrtle Beach. The weather did not want to cooperate. North Carolina was going to be freezing with snow, but we were going anyway. After some major wiring issues with the camper and Xterra(I can go into detail should anyone be interested), being postponed a day, and checking and rechecking the weather, we decided to head South.

We drove to Meaher State Park in Mobile. We got there about 9:00 pm. We pulled in and realized they were closed, so Bobby was going to turn around. He started backing out and the wires pulled out of the plug in the Xterra. It's dark and we had no lights on the camper. We obviously couldn't drive anywhere else so we were going to park and the entrance and wait for someone to show up in the morning. As Bobby backed into a spot, I stood behind the camper with a flashlight and tried to guide him back. A woman left the park, unlocked the gate, drove through, re locked the gate behind her and just stopped and watched us. After a few minutes she asked, "Are you suppose to be here?" and Bobby said, "No. No we're not." He explained the situation to her. She got the manager and they got us a spot for the night. We are so thankful for them! It was cold and we needed the radiator!

We spent a couple days in Mobile. It was VERY WINDY and cold, so we couldn't do much. We decided to head on to Panama City Beach. The first day there was cool, but ended up being absolutely beautiful.

We had an awesome vacation and LOVED being in the camper!!!

Cody eating cold, left over pizza on the way to Mobile, which he said was awesome and he wanted to do again.

Brit having a Titanic moment

We went to the USS Alabama, but they were closed for the day. We did get to drive through the parking lot and snap some pictures.

Panama City Beach
1st day was sunny, but nippy!!

and windy!

The whole time we were there, the red flags were up. NO SWIMMING The rip currents were very strong. In fact someone almost drowned the 2nd day we were there.
Day #2 turned out much warmer

Buried treasure

The water was freezing

We rented these AWESOME little scooters. They were like three wheeled miniature Herbies. Mine got up to 50 mph!!!

We didn't rent this one, but the kids had to pose with it. It was so cool!

The next day we hung out at the campground and had a blast making new friends.

The next day we went to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum

Berlin Wall

Can you roll your tongue?

They had a lazer room like in a bank vault. Cody got the 2nd best score for the day and Brit got the 7th! (Cody's the mystery player. He didn't put his name in after he went through. Britney is Brit444)

Crab legs anyone?

Dinner at the Mellow Mushroom before playing putt-putt

Bobby winning tic-tac-toe...again.

After we played putt-putt, Britney and Bobby did something a little crazy. Brit had been wanting to ride the Sling Shot since we got into town. What is the Sling Shot you may ask? Well, I'll just have to show you in my next post.

Playing before we left the campground and headed home.
