Long Story For A Long Day

Cody has been having trouble with his glasses. With them, he can see better when he is reading and writing, but everything farther away is blurry. We were concerned the prescription is wrong, so I scheduled an appointment to have a technician check them out. We left the house this morning at 7:00 to get to our 9:00 appointment in Birmingham. The tech checked Cody's glasses, had him read the letters on the wall and up close. Her conclusion was that the lenses are the prescription the doctor ordered, but that Cody's vision is his left eye is a little worse than what the doctor wrote down. She wanted Cody to see his doctor, who on any other day would be at the office, but not today...our luck...She then offered to have us wait to see another doctor, who also on any other day would be there, but today had an appointment and wouldn't be at the office until 1:00.

We opted to stay in Birmingham and see the other doctor today. We had almost 4 hours to wait, so we ended up going to Lauren's house in Helena. She was at work, but it was SO wonderful to see Rory and Connie. (Thanks again for the corn dogs and french fries!) So back to the doctor's office an hour early, because I evidently can't read a clock! I bet Connie thought I was NUTS today!!! While we were waiting in the office, we were playing games; Word Association, Eye Spy, Nintendo DS Carnival Games, and Rock Paper Scissors. Rock Paper Scissors turned into Dynamite, Tornado, Gun. My favorite quote of the day is from Britney. "Dynamite is like baby caterpillars. The tornado is the caterpillar in the cocoon. The gun is like the butterfly emerging from it's depths and shooting everybody with it's antennas." That's my girl:)

After waiting an hour because of my mistake, we were called back and the doctor quickly examined Cody. He said that the glasses are so strong that they are magnifying and distorting images farther away. He is now to wear his glasses for close up things; reading, writing, drawing...and to take them off to watch TV or anything that he can tell the images are blurry. Problem solved we hope.

On the way home, God was kind enough to wash the pollen of our car. Thank You! It has since rained so much that the back yard is flooded. The cars are definitely cleaner.

We watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua tonight and I must say it was really cute. Of course ya gotta love a handsome German Shepherd on the big screen:) I think Logan was taken pointers!

Cody is currently sitting at the kitchen table mixing every single container of Silly-Putty he has. It's turned into a truly revolting color, but Cody is thrilled with his creation. Britney is in her room, dressing Logan. That boy does look good in sun glasses and a scarf:)
