Enjoying Tuesday
We had another beautiful day today. I got the bikes out, aired up the tires and we rode for about an hour. Then the kids got their skateboard and scooter out. We had so much fun and it was a great work out!

Then we went shopping for Brit's costume for Seussical. We bought an outfit the other day, but it wasn't exactly what she wanted. I think we were more successful today. We'll probably add some stuff to it to make it funkier and more Dr. Seuss-ish:)

Intruder Alert
The kids and I had to go to the store to pick up a few things. We opened the door, started outside, and I turned to lock the door when something caught my eye. He was in our front yard, right by the porch. By the time I grabbed my camera, he was across the street and heading for our neighbors house. I'm a huge animal lover, but I have to be honest...these guys kind of freak me out!

Cody's Glasses
We went to Birmingham this morning to pick up Cody's glasses. The company we ordered them from didn't shorten the ear pieces like they were suppose to, so the guy in the office "customized" them for Cody. They are slightly tinted because of Cody's light sensitivity. We may end up getting them a little darker, though. Cody said he can see some things better, but almost everything is blurry right now. Hopefully, his eyes will adjust to them soon.

Bedtime
Since we've started homeschooling, the "time" in bedtime has become a friendly suggestion, and it really isn't suggested that often. The last couple weeks, it's been really late, or really early, depending on how you look at it, before we finally fall asleep. This evening, I was telling Britney and Cody that we need to be getting more sleep and should go to bed earlier. I'm honestly the one that's tired. I don't think they are showing any signs of sleep deprivation.
So here it is, 11:35 and we're getting ready for bed. Cody finished brushing his teeth before I did. He left the bathroom, but didn't shut the door. I decided to go ahead and use the bathroom before I went to bed. I'm sitting there and Cody walks into the bathroom with two Pez dispensers and starts shaking them like castanets and dancing and singing. It's a good thing I was sitting where I was because I was laughing so hard I probably would have peed on myself.
There are so many things we've experienced and laughed about, games we've played, songs we've sang, stories we've told and things we've learned in the middle of the night. Even though I am a little tired, I am so thankful for these moments with my children. I feel so blessed to have them at home living, learning and loving life with us.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday! The library contacted DreamWeavers yesterday to see if the cast would come to the library this afternoon to celebrate. The Decatur Daily will be there there, so Britney just knows she will be in the newspaper! I found this site a little while ago. We haven't had a chance to play on it yet, but it looks like fun!

UPDATE:
OK, I have to say I am amazed at the amount of families that came out to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday! The kids' library was completely packed! I always joke about being claustrophobic, but I truly experienced it today. I told Bobby it was worse than Disney World, but he didn't believe me.
The cast sang a couple songs from the play. A woman that works at the library dressed as The Cat in The Hat. They had face painting, bean bag toss, fish to decorate, the COOLEST Green Eggs and Ham cake, cup cakes and a TV set up to watch a movies.

Brit was invited to spend the night with Keilee last night. Cody loves looking at their games and toys, and playing with Britney and Keilee. He just likes getting into everything at their house! He found something really cool...Expandagon! It's all these pieces of plastic and fit together and expand. Keilee, being the amazingly kind person she is, gave it to Cody. We got it out tonight after I gave Logan a bath (Dang...he's a BIG dog!) and had so much fun! We tried making a rocket, but I don't think we have the right pieces, so we made a wacky rocket:) We also discovered they make a Grow-bot Glow-bot. It's motorized and glows in the dark?! Yeah, Cody wants it:)

Christmas in February
Donna and Elisa came over yesterday to celebrate Elisa's birthday with us. We haven't seen Elisa before Christmas...way too long! She brought our Christmas presents. I got these awesome crafty books and Bobby got a roll-up camping blanket. The kids got reading and coloring books, Brit got some jewelry, Cody got a magic wand, and they both got lots of Pez dispensers to add to their collection. Thanks Elisa!!!

Happy Campers
With as much traveling as we want to do, it made sense to start looking for a camper. We figured out approximately how much we would save per trip if we stay in a campground instead of a hotel. Wow! That money could go into more important things...like more traveling!
We are the proud owners of a Scotty Camper!
Cody's favorite new hiding spot.

Seeing Something New
Cody went to the ophthalmologist, and guess what? He needs glasses like the rest of our family:) So today we headed off to Birmingham to pick out his glasses and get them ordered. On our way, we stopped to eat lunch and saw something none of us had ever seen before...a 27 mile an hour speed limit sign! Has anyone ever seen this before? We thought it was so interesting that I had to snap a picture.

OK, I have to be honest here. I knew Cody's glasses would be a wonderful thing for him, but I was so worried they would be those big, thick, plastic, ugly glasses...especially when the guy said, "Your insurance has it's own kind for you to choose from." I felt a little panicky when he reached for the long, rectangular box. I've never been so happy to be proven wrong! These glasses look awesome on him...and he looks so grown up! Cody really likes them, which is the most important thing. He should have his glasses in about two weeks, and he's actually excited:)

Beautiful Saturday
Britney had play practice from 9 - 12. After practice we had a board meeting. (I'm on DreamWeavers General Board for those of you that don't know:) It was a little after 1:00 by the time we were finished and we were HUNGRY! Cody had the fabulous suggestion of going to McDonald's. When we got home, Britney geared up and grabbed her board and Cody got on his scooter. I rode the skateboard a little...I think I may have to get one, too. Now I remember how much I loved having one when I was younger.

Skate Day & Reading Contest
The first Friday of each month is Skate Day for the homeschoolers in our area. It's also when the Reading Contest winners are announced! (Or any other contest for that matter)

Cody kept everyone entertained!
Then he played the games for a while.
We found out they had skates that fit him! This is the first time
Cody has gotten to skate at the rink! He had a blast!

I tried to get a couple pictures of Britney skating, but they just didn't turn out. It was way too dark in there to get a decent shot.
