Early Thanksgiving

Cathy invited us over for a Thanksgiving get together today. She made delicious ham, turkey, deviled eggs, dessert and everyone brought something to share. It was a fantastic meal with amazing people! We had so much fun! I am so thankful for this group. Thank you Cathy for a wonderful day!

Crybaby Hollow

Last night, we made plans with our friend Bridgette to go to Crybaby Hollow. After the Alabama game, Cody was ready to go, but it was like 6:22 and not nearly late and creepy enough. Bobby had a brilliant idea to go to Walmart and pick up the new G. I. Joe movie. Bridgette came over to watch the movie with us. Bobby's daughter, Bridgett and her 2 year old son, Will, came over too. We had lots of fun, and the movie is really good...I was surprised how much I liked it!

When we got to CBH, Bobby stopped on the bridge, we rolled the windows down, and he put the car in neutral. The van rolled just a bit, and Bobby and I heard this high pitched, screaming sound! REALLY! We drove down the road and turned around, and stopped again on the bridge. Nothing happened. The last time we went, we quickly rolled backwards uphill, so nothing happening was freaky. Bobby parked with the van facing the bridge so we could use the headlights since we forgot to bring flashlights this time. We walked to the bridge and took pictures. Bobby and Bridgett saw something over the water in one of the camera flashes. Bobby, Cody, Bridgett and Will went back to the van while Britney, Bridgette and I stayed on the bridge for a few more minutes. When we got back to the van, the interior lights were flickering and as soon as Bobby said something about it, they stopped. That's never happened before! Everyone got buckled and we made another trip across the bridge. Bobby started to roll his window down, and it came down about 4 inches and stopped! It wouldn't budge! That's never happened either! Once we drove past the bridge, the window worked just fine. FREAKY!

When we got back on Hwy 31, Bridgett asked us if we wanted to hear something scary. Um...YES! She said, "You know how they say young children are more susceptible to ghosts? As we got closer to the bridge, Will started cringing and getting scared. Then, when I was putting him into his car seat, he said The baby's dead." Oh my! We all had chill bumps after that! We hadn't said anything at all about the story, or ghosts. AH!

Our Home

After living in apartments, and renting houses for the majority of my life, I was beyond excited when Bobby and I bought our house. After the closing, I jumped around like an idiot and screamed right outside their office because I was so happy. We slept on the floor that night, right on the carpet grinning and laughing because it was OUR carpet. Then we moved in, and I wanted to do things to make it our home. I wanted to take down wallpaper, paint, get decorations and pretty artwork to hang on the walls...

Fast forward to now, almost exactly six years later. We've changed so much as a family.

Instead of wanting that pretty artwork on my walls, I want my baby's faces. I want pictures of our family to surround us. I want that picture of my tiny five pound Cody sitting in the blue pitcher on the counter of the house we rented in Hillsboro, and the one of Britney learning how to ride her bicycle with her helmet on backwards.

I want to turn the room the computer is in, into an awesome space for the kids with bookcases full of books, books, and more books, art supplies, maps, globe, games, instruments, dress up clothes, cork boards to hang their artwork, (and this is Karen's idea) paint the bottom half of the walls with chalkboard paint. How cool would that be?!

I want to use our home as a place to have fun, learn, explore, pretend, make things, sew, paint...I don't care if we get paint on the carpet...it's OUR carpet.

Trick or Treat

We had a fantastic Halloween! Bobby worked off yesterday morning, so he was able to go trick or treating with us last night! It's been years since he could go.

Cody dressed up before he dressed up to go out:)

I put Britney's hair in twisted pigtails so her hair was sticking up. Then I sprayed it red. It looked awesome and she loved it!

Mario's Mustache

Mario and Alice Cullen

I had SO much fun with my costume this year! I wore a moo moo dress, a ton of makeup, and put rollers in my hair~which was far more difficult than I thought it would be. I got tired of putting them in, so I put the rest in pigtails:) My name for the evening was Lurleen Pearl. Bobby, I mean Tex, dressed like a Cowboy.

At one of our trick or treat stops, they had a bubble maker that filled the bubbles with smoke. Cody thought it was THE coolest thing EVER! He was so excited that he caught this one:)

~CANDY~

Like I said, I had way too much fun this year. After we got home and checked candy, I started taking the rollers out. One word sums it up...HYSTERICAL!
I couldn't stop laughing!

Then I brushed my hair...OMG! We laughed SO hard. I totally had a Pretty Woman moment. (Julia Roberts...hair...not her figure...damn!)
